Android Ringtone Directions
How to Manually Add a Ringtone File to the Ringtones Folder:
If you already have a custom ringtone that you need to add to your phone, you'll need a file manager app to move it into the Ringtones folder. Some phones have good file managers already installed on them, but if not, you'll need to download one from the Google Play Store. For these steps, we're using Solid Explorer.
1. Long-press on your custom ringtone in the Downloads folder (or whichever local folder you downloaded it to). After long-pressing on the first ringtone, you can tap on more ringtones if you wish to copy multiple sounds at once.
2. Tap on the copy icon (2 rectangles stacked on top of each other).
3. Swipe in from the left edge of the screen to open the location menu. If you're using Android 10 gestures, turn your phone horizontal to get two tabs, the left window will be your source folder, and the right folder you can navigate to the Ringtones folder.
4. Tap on Internal Memory.
5. Tap on the Ringtones folder. If you want to set the sound that you're moving as a text tone or an alarm, you would tap on the Notifications folder or Alarms folder.
6. Tap on Paste.

How to Set a Custom Ringtone in Settings:
1. Open Settings.
2. Tap on the Sounds section. If you don't see a section with Sound in the title, type "Ringtone" into the search bar at the top of your Settings app.
3. Tap on Phone ringtone.
4. If you get an "Open with" or "Complete action using" prompt, select the system's Sound Picker app instead of a file manager or Zedge.
5. Tap on the custom ringtone that you added to the ringtones folder.
6. Tap on Save or OK. If you do not see these options on your device, tap on the back button to exit the ringtone picker.
